Easter Sunday is April 5 this year, and if you thought Ridgefield was just doing egg hunts — think again.
This weekend has something for literally everyone. Kids, dogs, art people, comedy people, writers, card players, live music fans, people who just want a beer and a reason to be downtown. We’ve pulled together everything happening Friday through Sunday so you can plan your weekend without digging through fifteen different Instagram pages.
You’re welcome. Now go make plans.
Live Music: Hayley Lynn & Blake Johnston
Friday, April 3 | The Neighborhood Refuge, 113 S Main Ave
Kick the weekend off right. Hayley Lynn and Blake Johnston are performing live at The Neighborhood Refuge on Friday night. The Refuge is one of those places that just works — good drinks, good people, the right size room for live music. Get there early, get a drink, and let the weekend officially begin.
Easter Egg Hunt & Sniff — For Dogs
10:00am – 4:00pm | Woodin You Pet Store
Yes, this is real, and yes, it is exactly as good as it sounds.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt & Sniff is back, and your dog is invited. Bring your doggo in to sniff around the store for treat-filled eggs — it’s a customer favorite for a reason.
The Easter Bunny himself will be hopping between the Ridgefield and Vancouver locations, but if you catch him in Ridgefield you might just score a golden egg and some cute photos to absolutely destroy Instagram with.
Walk-in friendly. Bring the dog. Obviously.
Discover Downtown Dash
10:00am | Abrams Park & Downtown Ridgefield
Part scavenger hunt, part excuse to finally explore every corner of downtown. The Discover Downtown Dash starts at Abrams Park and takes you through the heart of Ridgefield. Great for newcomers who haven’t found all the hidden spots yet, and genuinely fun if you’ve been here for years and want to see it through fresh eyes.
iQ Credit Union Easter Egg Hunt
10:00am – Noon | Abrams Park, 400 Abrams Park Road
This is the one. I think we are 17 years now – please correct us if we are wrong but this is Ridgefield’s signature Easter event.
Age-specific hunt waves through 6th grade, thousands of eggs, golden tickets, prize tables, inflatables, a barrel train, face painting, Easter crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny, and snacks. It is free. It is packed. It moves fast.
Bring your basket. Arrive before 10. Do not assume you have a few minutes — you do not.
Writer’s Workshop at the Wildlife Refuge
10:00am – 11:30am | Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, Carty Unit
28908 NW Main Ave, Ridgefield WA 98642
This one is for the people who want something a little different on a Saturday morning.
Join Abby Braithwaite of the PN Farm Arts Initiative for a guided writing workshop through the Refuge. Bring a favorite nature poem to share — your own or someone else’s. Notebooks and pens provided, but bring your journal if you have one. All ages and all levels of writers welcome.
The refuge in early April is genuinely spectacular — wildflowers coming up, the river valley doing what it does in spring. This is a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning, and the kind of thing that makes you realize Ridgefield has more going on than people give it credit for.
Spring Paint & Sip with Tal
1:00pm | Ridgefield Wine Bar — Downtown
Once the egg hunt chaos settles, this is your afternoon reset. Local artist Tal leads a spring-themed paint and sip at Ridgefield Wine Bar. Creative, relaxed, a little wine, good company. Check with Ridgefield Wine Bar directly for tickets.
This one’s for the people who’ve been running kids around all morning and need a moment that’s entirely for them.
Live Music: Trent Beaver
6:30pm – 9:30pm | The Neighborhood Refuge, 113 S Main Ave
The Neighborhood Refuge keeps the weekend going with Trent Beaver performing Saturday night. If you were there Friday for Hayley Lynn and Blake Johnston, you already know the vibe. If you weren’t — now you have a second chance. Come downtown, grab dinner, stay for the music.
Open Mic Comedy Night
7:00pm – 9:00pm | Ridgefield Craft Brewing Taphouse
First Saturday of every month, Ridgefield Craft Brewing hosts Open Mic Comedy Night presented by The Cold Slice podcast. Take the stage if you’ve got material. Stay in your seat if you’d rather just laugh. Either way — craft beer, good vibes, something genuinely different to do on a Saturday night.
Open mic comedy in Ridgefield. We love it here.
First Saturday Artist Reception: Molly Barnes
5:00pm | Ridgefield Art Gallery — Downtown
Before the comedy or the music, make a stop at the Ridgefield Art Gallery for the First Saturday Artist Reception featuring the work of Molly Barnes. Meet the artist, see new work, make an evening of it. Free to attend.
This is the kind of thing that reminds you Ridgefield isn’t just growing — it’s growing into something with culture and character. Come see it.
Sunday, April 5 — Easter Sunday
Pints & Pegs — Cribbage Sundays
3:00pm – 5:00pm | Ridgefield Craft Brewing Taphouse Must be 21+
For the non-egg-hunting crowd, this is your Easter Sunday.
Cribbage Sundays at Ridgefield Craft Brewing is a drop-in, community-style card gathering — seasoned pros and first-time players equally welcome. Bring your board and cards if you have them (they’ll have a couple on hand to share). Play 2–3 casual games, meet your neighbors, and get half off your first drink for participating. Beer, cider, seltzer, or wine.
Every other Sunday, 3–5pm. No competitive pressure, no stakes — just a reason to be around people on a Sunday afternoon.
This is exactly the kind of thing Ridgefield needs more of.
Easter Sunday at the Refuge — Go on your own
Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge | Dawn onward
No event required. Just go.
The refuge in early April is one of the best things about living here. Wildflowers starting up, the river valley green and alive, sandhill cranes possibly still present. Sunrise is something. Dogs on leash. Bring binoculars if you have them.
It’s free. It’s quiet. It’s the best possible Easter morning reset.

A note on parking

Saturday morning around Abrams Park will be busy. The egg hunt draws a crowd and the Discover Downtown Dash has people moving through the same area at the same time. Parking a few blocks off Main Street and walking is always your best move — Ridgefield is small enough that nothing is far.
A few years ago, Easter weekend in Ridgefield meant driving somewhere else to find something to do. This year there’s more happening than you can fit into two days — for kids, for dog people, for artists, for people who just want live music and a beer on a Saturday night.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s a community that’s figuring out who it is.
If you’re new here or thinking about moving to Ridgefield, this weekend is a good look at what we’ve got going on. Come see it.
And if you go to any of these — tag us. We want to see your dog with a treat-filled egg. We want to see your paint and sip creation. We want to see all of it.
