Pickleball has officially taken over this corner of Clark County, and honestly, for good reason. It's easy to learn, genuinely fun, and you can get a solid workout in without having to commit two hours of your life to it. The courts around here are mostly free, mostly outdoors, and mostly excellent once the weather turns.

Here's where to go, what to expect at each spot, and one thing coming soon that's worth knowing about.

The courts listed here are open to the public. Bring your own paddle and balls — none of these outdoor spots supply equipment.

Ridgefield

Ridgefield High School

Outdoor — 4 Courts Free

Four courts shared with the high school tennis program, located on the school grounds. These are solid courts for open play — just keep in mind that school activities take priority during the school year and there are no lights, so once the sun drops, you're done. Early mornings and weekend play tend to work best here. Worth having as a backup when Governor Park is busy.

Ridgefield Administrative & Civic Center (RACC)

Indoor — 2 Courts Drop-In or Membership

Here's one a lot of people in town still don't know about. The Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center — the big civic building on Pioneer Street — has two dedicated indoor pickleball courts installed inside the gym. Permanent lines, portable nets, and full lighting. That means year-round play, rain or shine, which in southwest Washington is not a small thing.

The courts were originally set up through the Ridgefield School District's Community Education program, and public access has expanded since then. Drop-in play is available — you don't need a membership to try it. Sessions are organized by skill level, so you're not walking into a court full of people who've been playing for years if you're just getting started.

Check the current schedule at the Pickleheads listing linked below, or contact the RACC directly — session times rotate and it's worth confirming before you head over.

Most people drive right past this and don't know it's there

The RACC courts are inside the civic center building on Pioneer Street — not a standalone gym, which is probably why they fly under the radar. Two proper indoor courts, skill-level drop-in sessions, and no full membership required to show up and play. If you've been waiting for the outdoor courts to stop being muddy, this is your answer.

La Center

Heritage Park Opening June 2026

Outdoor — 4 Courts Free

La Center is getting four brand-new dedicated outdoor pickleball courts at Heritage Park, and they're on track to be fully complete — fencing included — by June 2026. The courts are actually already striped and sitting there; the city approved the final fencing contract in February, and that's the last piece before they're fully open. This one is worth the short drive once it opens — dedicated courts (not shared with tennis) in a pleasant park setting off East Heritage Loop.

No lights are planned for this location, so this is a daytime-only spot. Worth bookmarking and checking back on once June hits.

What about Woodland?

Several sources mention pickleball in Woodland, WA, but dedicated public courts have been hard to confirm with specifics. If you know of a court or organized play group in Woodland, reach out — we'd love to add it to this guide. In the meantime, Ridgefield's Governor Park and the soon-to-open Heritage Park in La Center are your closest reliable options in this corridor.
