Ridgefield Police Unveil the 2026 Pink Patch, and Carty Made the Cut
Nine years, nine stars, one sandhill crane. The department's limited-edition patch goes on sale October 1 for $10, and every sale supports the Pink Lemonade Project.
It's that time of year again. Starting October 1, Ridgefield police officers will be wearing pink on their shoulders, and you can wear one too. For the ninth year in a row, the Ridgefield Police Department is taking part in the Pink Patch Project, the worldwide campaign where public safety agencies swap their usual shoulder patch for a pink one during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and sell copies to raise money for the cause.
The money raised here stays here. Patch sales benefit the Pink Lemonade Project, a local nonprofit that supports everyone affected by breast cancer with outreach, education, screening, financial assistance, support groups, mentors and community.
The 2026 design
Officer Kaylin Debiak led this year's project and revealed the design at the City Council meeting on Thursday, September 24. The reveal came right after the Council presented a Breast Cancer Awareness Month proclamation to the Pink Lemonade Project.
Every part of the patch means something:
Officer Debiak thanked the community for showing up year after year. “We are so grateful that over the past nine years of this project our community has continued to show up and support this project, and the work of Pink Lemonade Project, making a difference right here in Southwest Washington,” she said.
Where to get your patch
Patches cost $10 each and go on sale October 1. There's a limited number, and the City hasn't said how many were made this year. If you want one, don't wait until Halloween.

That list of local businesses means you can grab a patch while you're already getting coffee, flowers or a beer. Buying your patch at The Neighborhood Refuge? They're also pouring their Pink Lemonade Project cocktail all October. It costs $22, $16 of that goes to the Pink Lemonade Project, and it comes in a mini trash can you get to keep. Two donations in one stop.
Pink all month long
The patches are only one part of it. All through October, RPD officers will wear their pink patches and put pink awareness ribbons on their vehicles to get people talking. City staff in every department are also getting involved by wearing pink on Wednesdays. Yes, it's a Mean Girls reference, and yes, it's for a very good reason.
Officer Debiak explained what she hopes people take from seeing officers in pink: “As you see us in the community with our pink patches this October, I hope you see the pride we have in this tradition and in the Ridgefield community.”
