Jersey Mike's Is Finally Here — and Your Sub Can Help Ridgefield High
A Jersey girl's honest reaction to a Jersey Mike's opening in her PNW small town: I drove straight from a hike to go meet the GM. No shower, no shame. Here's everything you need to know about Wednesday's grand opening at Union Ridge — including how three bucks gets you a free sub AND supports Ridgefield HS.

Okay, so here's the thing about being from New Jersey: you don't just casually like Jersey Mike's. It's identity - like bagels and pizza. I have eaten more #6 Mike's Ways at the original location in Point Pleasant than I can responsibly count, and I will die on the hill that ordering it "Mike's Way" is not optional — it's the only way, hence the name. So when I found out our new Union Ridge location was about to open, I did what any reasonable, well-adjusted adult would do: I finished my hike, got in my car still covered in trail dust, and drove straight there.
I found GM Kyle mid-setup and — with zero chill, still in my hiking boots — more or less cornered the poor man before he'd even gotten the ipad plugged in. Turns out he already knew who Meanwhile in Ridgefield was, which flattered me for about four seconds until I remembered this town has approximately twelve of us and we are all extremely online about it. Small towns. Big energy. I'm not too proud to take the win.
Kyle gave me the full walkthrough, filled me in on the grand opening plan, and sent me home with a handful of coupons to pass along. Naturally, my son got recruited for a photo holding the loot the second we walked in the door — he did not ask questions, he simply understood the assignment.
Here's the actual news, though, and it's genuinely a good one: this isn't just a free-sub gimmick. Jersey Mike's is tying the grand opening to a donation for Ridgefield High School, which is exactly the kind of "new business actually shows up for the town" move that makes me want to shout about it from the top of Discovery Ridge.
The Deal, Straight From Kyle
No trick here, no fine print maze. Walk in, bring at least three dollars — that's a minimum, not a cap, so throw in more if you're feeling generous — hand over the coupon, and walk out with a free regular sub. Every dollar goes straight to Ridgefield High School. That's it. That's the whole ask.
Grand Opening Details
Don't have a coupon yet? You've got options. Hallstrom Home has some, and Kyle's been making the rounds to plenty of other Ridgefield spots too, so keep an eye out around town. I've also got a few left myself — email me and I'll see what I can do. Either way, don't let one sit forgotten in a cupholder until August. Window's short: Wednesday through Sunday, Union Ridge location only.
Quick Questions, Quick Answers
Do I need one of Shannon's coupons specifically, or will any grand-opening coupon work?
Any official Jersey Mike's Union Ridge grand-opening coupon works — mine are just the nine that happened to end up in my glove compartment. Keep an eye on their in-store signage and social for how they're distributing the rest.
Can I do this more than once during the week?
Ask an employee in-store about any per-person limits — that's a detail for the team at the counter, not something I want to guess at and get wrong for you.
Does this apply at other Jersey Mike's locations in the area?
Nope — this grand opening deal is specific to the new Union Ridge location on N Pioneer Canyon Drive.
More From Meanwhile in Ridgefield
Go get your sub. Bring your three bucks. Support the Raptors' future classmates. And if you see me in there ordering my #6 Mike's Way (extra oregano, don't @ me), come say hi — I'll probably still have trail dust on my shoes.
