If summer in Ridgefield had a soundtrack, it would probably include the crack of a bat, kids chasing foul balls, and someone celebrating a $3 hot dog like they won the lottery. That can only mean one thing — the Ridgefield Raptors are back, and the 2026 season is shaping up to be a good one.
Whether you have been going for years or you have somehow still never made it out to the RORC on a summer evening, here is everything you need to know before Opening Night.
What Is the West Coast League?
The Raptors are part of the West Coast League, one of the premier collegiate summer wood-bat leagues in the country. The players are real college athletes — Division I, II, and top NAIA programs — spending their summers playing competitive ball in front of communities like ours.
For baseball fans, it is legitimately good ball. For everyone else, it is a relaxed, affordable summer night out that does not require a major commitment. The Raptors have been building a loyal following since 2018, and 2026 has real momentum behind it.
The season opens at home against the NW Star Nighthawks on May 28, followed by a three-game home series against the Nanaimo NightOwls through the holiday weekend. Portland Pickles rivalry games land later in the summer — always a crowd favorite around here.
2026 Promotions Worth Planning Around
The full promo schedule is out, and there are some genuinely great nights on the calendar this year. A few highlights worth marking now:
May 30 — Opening Weekend Saturday
Opening weekend Saturday games tend to have the biggest energy of the season. A great night to bring the whole crew for your first game of the year.
June 11 — Trading Card Night
Trading card giveaways are a perennial favorite. Kids love them and, honestly, so do the adults. Show up early — these tend to go fast.
July 25 — BBQ & Brew Night
Mid-summer, warm evenings, baseball, BBQ, and cold drinks. This is exactly what a Pacific Northwest summer is supposed to feel like.
August 4–5 — Final Home Weekend & Fan Appreciation Night
Fan Appreciation Night on August 5 closes out the home schedule. It is always a warm send-off — a fitting way to cap a summer of Raptors baseball.
