Eight Cow Creamery, the family-owned ice cream shop in Discovery Ridge, hosted its annual Ice Cream for Breakfast event
If you’re an early riser in Ridgefield, Washington, you may have seen a bunch of people in jammies wandering around Discovery Ridge on Saturday, February 7th.
Eight Cow Creamery, the family-owned ice cream shop in Discovery Ridge, hosted its annual Ice Cream for Breakfast event
Eight Cow Creamery was founded by local couple David and Alisa Neil, parents of eight children — which inspired the name. What started as a mobile ice cream truck has grown into a welcoming storefront that has quickly become a community gathering place.
Located in Discovery Ridge — the central Ridgefield hub with Starbucks, small businesses, and steady morning foot traffic — the shop naturally draws:
Early morning runners finishing their route
Families grabbing weekend coffee
Walkers meeting up with friends
Kids looking for a treat (and let’s be honest… adults too)
Everything is made in-house, with locally inspired flavors and rotating seasonal options. They also offer gluten-free and dairy-free choices, making it accessible for more families in the community.
This Saturday’s event was simple, joyful, and very Ridgefield.
It’s the kind of small-town event that turns into a memory — post-run scoops, kids still in slippers, parents pretending this counts as “balanced” because there’s probably milk involved.
Events like this are what make Ridgefield feel connected. A family-owned business. A central gathering place. Neighbors running into neighbors (sometimes literally, if you’re mid-stride).
If you’re looking for something simple and sweet this weekend, add Eight Cow to your list.
And if you saw someone finishing a 5-mile run holding a waffle cone at 8:15 in the morning — just know they’re living correctly.
