Ridgefield Winter Market 2026: Dates at the Greely Building

Summer's over, but the market isn't. Starting November 7, the Ridgefield Farmers Market heads inside the Historic Greely Building on Pioneer Street, twice a month, all the way through April.

Every September, the same thing happens. The last Saturday of the farmers market at Davis Park rolls around, and you realize you didn't buy nearly enough of that bread, those candles, that honey. Then you wait until June.

Not this year. The Ridgefield Farmers Market is bringing many of its favorite vendors indoors for the Ridgefield Winter Market inside the Historic Greely Building. It runs the first and third Saturdays of the month, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., from November through April. Same local makers, a roof overhead, and perfect timing for holiday shopping.

A building with a story

If you've lived here a while, you've driven past the Greely a thousand times. Charles Henry Greely built it around 1920 as the Greely Ford Garage and showroom. Over the next century it sold cars, fixed cars and pumped gas, then became a school district bus garage, an agriculture classroom and finally a maintenance shop.

The Port of Ridgefield took it over in 2024 in a property swap with the school district. The original plan was to turn it into a business hub, but early estimates put a full modernization at $8 million to $9 million. So for now, the Port is opening it up for short, community-friendly uses like this one while it figures out what comes next.

Which means every Winter Market is also a chance to step inside one of downtown's oldest buildings and imagine what it could become.

Same local makers. A roof overhead. Perfect timing for holiday gifts.

Who you'll find at the Ridgefield Winter Market

The Winter Market brings many of the Davis Park regulars indoors: produce and baked goods, plus handmade gifts like candles, soaps, jewelry and home décor. Not every summer vendor will be there every time, so if you have a favorite, check the market's Facebook page before you go.

Make a day of it

November 7: market in the morning, wine walk in the afternoon

The first Winter Market lands on the same Saturday as the Sips of the Season Wine Walk. Shop the Greely from 10 to 2, grab lunch downtown, then check in at Overlook Park at 2:30 for the walk. The Greely is a wine walk stop too, so you'll be back.

November is Make a Difference Month

While you're downtown, drop a few cans of soup or chili in the Family Resource Center food drive bin at City Hall, 230 Pioneer St., just down the block.

December 5: no market, but Santa's at the Greely

There's no Winter Market on December 5 because downtown is busy with the Hometown Celebration. That day there's a 60-plus-vendor holiday marketplace on Main Avenue and at Overlook Park, plus free Santa visits inside the Greely from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Winter Market picks back up December 19.

Winter Market Tips

  • Bring a tote, and some cash just in case. Small vendors appreciate it.
  • Go early. The best baked goods sell out.
  • Park once, walk everywhere. The Greely is a block off Main, so you can hit the market, grab coffee and shop downtown without moving the car.
  • Shop your gift list. Local makers' gifts beat anything you'll find in a big-box aisle.
