Local Guide

Where to Eat in Ridgefield

A local's honest guide to every zone of Ridgefield's dining scene — from the craft cocktail bar in an old church to the drive-in that's been making shakes since 1968. Plus what's coming soon as the city keeps growing.

Ridgefield WA dining scene

Ridgefield's food scene has changed faster in the last three years than in the previous thirty. The city is growing — fast — and the restaurants are finally catching up. You've got a craft cocktail bar operating out of a converted church, a taproom with rotating food trucks and yard games, a neighborhood pub with Sunday brunch and bottomless mimosas, and a drive-in that's been slinging burgers since 1968 and shows no signs of stopping.

This guide organizes everything by neighborhood zone, the way a local would think about it. Whether you're a visitor heading to ilani or the Clark County Event Center, or a new resident still mapping the city, here's the honest rundown.

One thing worth knowing: Ridgefield is genuinely dog-friendly. Most spots with outdoor seating welcome leashed dogs. Where it matters, we'll say so.

I-5 West Side — Quick Off the Highway

Coming off I-5 Exit 14 heading west, you'll hit the chain corridor immediately. If you're passing through and need fuel in a hurry, it's all here: McDonald's, In-N-Out, Chipotle, and the Costco food court (the $1.50 hot dog is still a thing, and yes, it's still worth it). Easy on, easy off from either direction — this is the pit-stop zone, not the destination zone.

Nothing here needs a recommendation. You know what you're getting. The In-N-Out tends to have a line, but it moves.

Discovery Ridge — The First Commercial Hub

Head west on Pioneer from Exit 14 and you'll hit Settler Drive — the commercial strip that locals generally call Discovery Ridge. This is where the stores live, but also where Ridgefield's sit-down options have set up. Rosauers is the grocery anchor here, and it's also worth knowing they have a solid deli counter if you just need something quick.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Grill Sports Bar · American · Family-Friendly

Wall-to-wall TVs, 60-plus screens, arcade games, a big menu of bar comfort food, and enough energy that nobody's going to complain about a rowdy table. Playmakers is exactly what it says it is — a sports bar, done properly. Good for families, big groups, and anyone who wants to catch a game without committing to a quiet dinner. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly.

BevRidge Public Neighborhood Pub · Elevated Pub Fare

The more local pick of the Discovery Ridge options. BevRidge is a locally owned neighborhood pub with a small but thoughtful menu — elevated pub fare rather than bar food. Think smash burgers, gnocchi, pulled pork mac, steelhead salmon, and a craft cocktail list that actually has some range. The outdoor patio is comfortable and dog-welcoming, which makes it a regular spot for Ridgefield residents with four-legged plus-ones. Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas is worth planning around.

Taps Beer Reserve Pizza · Craft Beer

Pizza, craft beer, and a relaxed Discovery Ridge setting. A solid neighborhood option when you want something casual without the sports bar noise level of Playmakers next door.

Ichi Teriyaki Japanese · Teriyaki

A local favorite for a reason — dependable, quick, and genuinely good teriyaki. If you've lived in the Pacific Northwest for any length of time, you know the category. Ichi is the Ridgefield representative, and it holds up.

Eight Cow Creamery Ice Cream · Dessert

Ice cream only — no food — but worth noting for anyone finishing a walk at Overlook Park or wrapping up a Main Street afternoon. A local creamery that's built a following since setting up in Ridgefield.

MOD Pizza Pizza · Fast Casual

Build-your-own fast casual pizza. Consistent, reliable, good for kids and picky eaters. The chain pick of the zone when you want something familiar without hitting the I-5 west side corridor.

Downtown & Historic Main Street

This is old Ridgefield — Pioneer Street, Main Avenue, the blocks around City Hall and Overlook Park. The food scene here has a different character than Discovery Ridge: more local, more independent, more mixed in its formality. You've got a converted church serving craft cocktails next to a joint with a pool table. That range is exactly what makes it worth exploring.

Sportsman's Public House Bar & Grill · American · Pool Table

A Ridgefield original and unapologetically a joint — in the best possible way. There's a pool table side and a family dining side, good burgers and ribs, and the kind of bar atmosphere that hasn't been focus-grouped into something safe. If you moved to Ridgefield and walked in on a Friday night and witnessed a little chaos, you probably loved it. Lunch is open seven days, and Sunday brunch fills the family side early.

Little Conejo Norte Mexican · Tacos · Burritos

Little Conejo started as one of the food trucks at Carts by the Park and has since graduated into a full restaurant, taking over the space that used to be Bunnies on Main. The pedigree traces back to the beloved Little Conejo in Vancouver — the tacos are the draw, and they're as good here as anywhere. One of the better stories in Ridgefield's recent food evolution: started as a cart, earned a building.

Ridgefield Craft Brewing Taphouse · 21+ · Rotating Food Trucks

Ridgefield's own brewery and taphouse, right in the heart of Historic Downtown at 120 N 3rd Ave. The taphouse is 21-and-over, with about a dozen rotating craft beers and ciders on tap from their own 10-barrel production brewery. The food situation is handled by rotating trucks — El Rancho Viejo and the Nest food truck are regulars, and you can order at the bar and have it delivered to your table. Dog-friendly in the outdoor area. Check their website for current food truck schedules and live music nights before you go.

Carts by the Park Food Cart Pod · Rotating Vendors

The downtown food cart pod at 219 Pioneer St, across from City Hall and next to Overlook Park. Covered seating with heaters makes it year-round. The current lineup includes Sushi Kato (a legitimate sushi operation out of a food cart, which is exactly as good as it sounds) and Shawarma Refuge alongside a rotating cast of vendors. Hours and availability shift — check their Instagram (@cartsbythepark) before making it a specific destination.

Season's Coffee, Teas & Remedies Coffee · Tea · Grab & Go · Ice Cream

The downtown coffee option on N Main — not just drinks, but grab-and-go food items and ice cream too. Good for a morning stop before hitting the wildlife refuge or a midday break while exploring Main Street.

East Side — NE 10th Ave & Old Town

The NE 10th Ave corridor is the older, more industrial edge of Ridgefield — less polished than Discovery Ridge, more character. It's also where 3 Peaks lives, which has become one of the city's signature spots for exactly the kind of outdoor, casual, genuinely-local experience that new residents discover and immediately tell everyone about.

Don & Jo's Drive-In Drive-In · Burgers · Shakes · Since 1968

Don & Jo's has been in Ridgefield since 1968 — a family-built drive-in that has outlasted every trend in the food industry by just making good burgers and excellent milkshakes and not overcomplicating it. Technically near the Battle Ground exit, which makes some people debate whether it counts as Ridgefield, but locals consider it theirs and that's enough. Indoor dining, drive-through, and a deep list of shake flavors. The kind of place that makes you wish more things had been around for 50 years.

East I-5 Corridor — 65th Ave Strip

Heading east off the highway on the other side from Discovery Ridge, there's a strip along S 65th Ave with a cluster of options that are easy to miss if you don't know they're there. This is the zone for a quick meal before or after the Clark County Event Center or ilani — easy access, easy parking, no waiting for a table.

Fuel Bistro & Wine New American · Wine · Sit-Down

The proper sit-down option on this strip — New American cuisine with a wine focus, the kind of place that doesn't look like much from the outside but delivers a noticeably better meal than its surroundings would suggest. Worth knowing about if you want something a step up from the quick-service options nearby without driving into downtown.

New American Wine Sit-Down

Country Cafe Diner · American · Breakfast & Lunch

A proper diner. Eggs, pancakes, coffee, booths, friendly service, no fuss. The Country Cafe is the kind of place where you can go alone, sit at the counter, and leave feeling like you've eaten a real meal. Perfect diner food — which is a specific and underrated thing to be. Good for breakfast and lunch before heading to the wildlife refuge or anywhere else in town.

The rest of the strip is quick-service: Papa Pete's Pizza (no outdoor seating, but big inside and well set up for family parties and kids' events — the kind of pizza place parents actually want to book for a birthday), Subway, Teriyaki Thai ETC, and Lava Java for coffee. Reliable options if you're in and out.

ilani Resort — Its Own Category

ilani has somewhere around fifteen dining and bar options on its own — everything from the newly opened Sovereign Steakhouse (the tribally owned replacement for Michael Jordan's Steak House) to a Smashburger counter. It's a destination unto itself for dining, and it deserves more than a paragraph here. We've written a full guide.
